The “Essence of Beth”
The Essence of Beth
A few years ago, my dear friend Scott lost his beautiful wife, Beth, to cancer. Beth was an incredibly artistic soul who found joy in creating and collecting beautiful things. Among her many passions were painting and gemstones—treasures she gathered and cherished throughout her life.
As Scott and I became closer friends, he learned about my love of art and the ways I use my creativity to support local nonprofit organizations. Moved by the thought of Beth's artistic spirit continuing to make a difference, he gifted me her gemstone collection.
For nearly a year, the stones sat safely tucked away while I considered the many possibilities for honoring such a meaningful gift. Then my mom shared a wonderful idea: instead of turning the gemstones into jewelry, why not incorporate them directly into my watercolor paintings?
The moment she suggested it, everything clicked.
By embedding gemstones into my artwork, I could bring what I think of as the "Essence of Beth" into each piece. Her love of art and beauty would continue to inspire creativity, generosity, and connection. It became a way to honor her memory while creating something entirely new.
The first collection was especially meaningful. I created a special group of paintings for Scott and his family in Beth's honor. Seeing those pieces find their way home felt like the perfect tribute to a woman whose creativity touched so many lives.
Today, I use my own hand-selected gemstones in my artwork, but Beth's collection was the inspiration for it all. Her gift sparked an idea that transformed my art and expanded its purpose.
I've created a limited collection of these original watercolor and gemstone paintings to share with others. Every piece purchased helps fund future philanthropic projects and allows this mission of giving back to continue growing.
If one of these paintings speaks to you, I would be honored for it to live in your home. I can ship anywhere in the United States. 💛
To celebrate the launch of this collection, I will be donating 60% of every sale to Mile High Canine Rescue and their mission of rescuing dogs throughout Colorado.
Thank you for supporting art with purpose, honoring a beautiful legacy, and helping make a difference—one painting at a time.
